Georgia Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists brought in double-board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Timothy Minton, M.D. and Savannah Facial Plastic Surgery as part of the comprehensive services of our practice. Dr. Minton works with our team of ENT specialists to tackle some of the most complicated cases on both children and adults including facial reanimation, pediatric plastic surgery following nasal surgery or cleft lip or palate surgery or skin cancer reconstruction.

Dr. Minton is the region’s only Fellowship-Trained, Double-Board Certified Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Minton went on to then complete an additional five-year residency training in Otolaryngology/ Head & Neck Surgery, which included extensive training in reconstructive facial plastic surgery. Functional and Cosmetic Plastic Surgery
Though the term ‘plastic surgery’ is often associated with aesthetic appeal, Dr. Minton’s specialized training has allowed him to refine his expertise, taking his practice far beyond what you see on the surface. For example, sleep apnea and plastic surgery aren’t often directly associated; however, pulmonologists frequently refer patients to Dr. Minton to help alleviate the symptoms of sleep apnea by surgically repairing nasal tissue and/or a deviated septum. Approaching each patient as uniquely individual, Dr. Minton has been trained in techniques that utilize the smallest of incisions to those that call for total reconstruction.
Skin Cancer
Treatment for melanoma, basil cell or squamous cell skin cancer on the face can be a delicate procedure and can vary depending on the type of cancer, where it is located and the size. Dr. Minton can perform:

- Reconstruction
- Mohs surgery for basil cell and squamous cell skin cancer.
- Reconstruction after Mohs surgery
- Scar revision
Mohs-Surgery Reconstruction for skin cancer
Mohs micrographic surgery is a very effective and safe treatment for skin cancer. The surgery entails taking very thin layers of cancerous skin, but the benefit is that it leaves behind the greatest amount of healthy skin. It can leave defects, but this is where Dr. Minton's expertise in cosmetic and facial surgery is key. His reconstruction can take place on the same day of surgery or later.
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty is one of the most common and difficult plastic surgery techniques. But it isn't just for cosmetic purposes. For patients with chronic sinusitis or a deviated septum, Dr. Minton's extensive knowledge of the structures of the face can effectively treat breathing problems.
Scar Revision
Dr. Minton performs scar revision procedures to reduce the appearance of scars caused by injury or previous surgery. There are many surgical methods of scar revision, only some of which may be appropriate for a particular type of scar or its location.
Ear Reconstruction and Otoplasty
Dr. Minton has extensive experience with correcting malformed ears or improving the position, shape or proportion of the ear.
